Das Mädchen im Löwenkäfig
“A play about solidarity – including anarchist creativity, humour, clownish wits and a falling star”
A tent with four poles, ropes and chains of light – a circus. How come the arena is abandoned and the lights are off? Why are there no trapeze artists spinning through the air, no magicians pulling mice out of their hats, no lions or elephants trampling through the sawdust? And where are the spectators?
Sitting gloomily in front of the circus tent, weight lifter Pomodora suddenly spots a falling star in the sky. I can make a wish, she thinks. And on the very next day, the circus company find a girl in the lion’s cage, peacefully sleeping in the paws of the beast. Will she succeed in winning the audience back?
