“Woodsword, loon aboard!” This is how Joan’s classmates make fun of her surname. They cannot understand her passion for the Middle Ages, for knights, kings and witches. One day, caught up in an argument, Joan accidentally breaks a school window. A letter from the teacher in her pocket, she heads home. Now what?
Joan gets herself a sword, a helmet and a folding bike called ‘Peugeot’ and sets off for France. There, she gains the future king’s trust, defeats a giant and eventually liberates the country. And after Joan’s victory, a broken window and a letter to the parents doesn’t seem like such a big deal anymore...
